The Soundtrack to the Story

There are some memories you remember in pictures. Mine tend to arrive with a soundtrack.

The Missing Chapter grew up among mixtapes, record shops, gigs, Melody Maker and the music of early-90s Leeds. I’ll be sharing some of the songs, albums and musical rabbit holes that belong to Freya and Alex’s world.

An old black and white photo of a building with a sign that reads 'The Duchess of York'. In front of the building, a person is leaning against the wall.
A vintage poster about the history of the phonograph. It mentions the first goth club in Leeds in 1992, personal experiences with drinking and working behind a bar, describing a gritty scene with cheap drinks, sticky floors, black clothes, and extraordinary hair. The poster is decorated with old photographs, a cassette tape, and a drawing of a boot, conveying a nostalgic, edgy aesthetic.
